Will That Be Thousand Island or Hundred Island Dressing? Jerry Lewis' Cracking Up
Every get tired of too many questions from your servers, and too many menu options?
That's the case in this scene from the movie Cracking Up, directed by and starring Jerry Lewis. It went directly to video in 1983, but had a two-day theatrical premiere at the old Thalia on the Upper West Side in 1985. The movie was oddly prescient about the increasingly sophisticated menus of then and now, making you wish for the table d'hôte of yesteryear. A few days after the movie wrapped, Lewis underwent triple-bypass surgery, which is maybe why he looks a little green in this clip, which was put up on Facebook by my Minneapolis friend, Jean Thilmany.
