Is Guy Fieri Opening a New York City Restaurant?

NYC, get ready.
"There might be a Guy Fieri restaurant coming to this island." That's straight from the horse's mouth. Fieri, who spoke at the New York City Wine & Food Festival this past weekend, previewed the possibility for a Big Apple eatery.

Located in Santa Rosa, California, Fieri's flagship is Tex Wasabi's, a self-described Rock-N-Roll Sushi-BBQ joint that offers odd dishes like the Screaming Gobbler Roll (roasted turkey, jalapeños, pepper jack, avocados, green onions, mayonnaise, and sriracha mayonnaise wrapped in sushi rice and tapioca paper) or the Tootsie Roll (a tempura-battered roll with smoked salmon, cream cheese, togarashi, green onion, and eel sauce). Sound tempting? No? Well, you have nothing to worry about, since Fieri's NYC spot won't be a Tex Wasabi's.

Perhaps he was inspired to open here after shooting an episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, highlighting restaurants the Redhead, Mama's Food Shop, and Gazala Place (none of which is really a diner, drive-in, or dive, but semantics probably aren't Fieri's forte). Maybe he'll open a Southern comfort-Druze restaurant! Sounds kinda tasty, actually. At least better than cooked sushi-meets-barbecue.
