Open and Closed: Say Hello to Kibo; Goodbye to Hinsch's

Restaurants and bars, they come and they go. Here are a few making their debuts and bowing out this week. If you hear of any new openings or closings, let us know.

Hinsch's, the beloved Bay Ridge luncheonette, has closed after more than 50 years in business.

The embattled space that most recently housed Stivale (before that, Choptank, and before that, Bar Q) appears to be closed for good.

Fredi Sandwich Bar, in Greenwich Village, has shuttered some eight months after it opened.

TriBeCafe, which just recently announced a new menu, has promptly closed its doors and will reopen as a new concept.

Donatella Arpaia's Mia Dona, which was rumored to be closing, apparently is. Arpaia says she's focusing on new motherhood.

Fisk, the Scandinavian takeout and specialty food shop adjoining White Slab Palace, is no more.

Long Island City is getting a new beer garden. Alewife Queens boasts 28 tap lines and two floors.

No Fun brings more small plates -- these ones Mediterranean-accented -- to the Lower East Side.

Salón Hecho is the new cantina annex next door to Hecho en Dumbo. Expect agave cocktails, beer, and Mexican artists.

Crown Heights gets Neapolitan pizza with Barboncino, opened by indie filmmaker Ron Brown and manned by Paulie Gee's alum Jon Greenberg.

Look for more Neapolitan pizza in Brooklyn, this time in Boerum Hill, thanks to Kesté vet Luca Arrigoni opening Sottocasa.

La Cerveceria is a Latin American-accented brewpub in the East Village. In addition to American cerveza, expect Peruvian tapas.

Tompkins Square Bagels is a new East Village café by an ex-Sushi Samba chef, Christopher Pugliese, that will specialize in old-school bagels.

Kibo, with consulting chef Joël Robuchon, is ready to announce itself. It will feature a robata grill and sushi bar.

Le Paddock brings classic French fare to Windsor Terrace, with specialties baked in a wood-fired oven.
