If spending time with family on Thanksgiving doesn't drive you to drink, then a visit to a department store on Black Friday surely will.
So to forget Thursday's traumatizing meal -- and the excesses of American consumerism that follow -- we suggest grabbing a beverage at Subway Inn, an unassuming dive near the Bloomingdale's loading docks.
The bar, located at 60th Street and Lexington, features $5 highballs from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily.
An added bonus: Subway is one of the few places in Manhattan where you can drink beer out of a glass boot!
