Coffee fans regularly flock to lower Lafayette Street to get their java fix at La Colombe Torrefaction (270 Lafayette Street, 212-625-1717), the Philadelphia-based coffee roaster that puts out a great cup of joe. Now comes some good news for coffee drinkers north of Houston Street: La Colombe Torrefaction is continuing its domination of Lafayette with a new, significantly larger café.

The new outpost, opening this coming Monday, according to those working on the space when we walked by, is located at 400 Lafayette Street and is the company's third New York City branch. A handsome bar area occupies the center of the room, while huge windows let in lots of light. Ample seating will provide space for those looking to linger over their afternoon lattes. The daily grind just got a little easier.
