Where Was I Eating? Markt
Lauren Shockey Oh, Leo
And so we reach the end of this week's game. The second clue must have been a big helper. "It's Leopold III and that picture totally hangs over the bar at Markt!" one commenter wrote. He is, indeed, correct! I was at that Belgian restaurant in the Flatiron District. The clue was in the picture, for Leopold III was the king of Belgium from from 1934 to 1951, at which point he abdicated in favor of his son. It was a tricky one, but you Fork in the Road readers always continue to amaze me with your eagle eyes.
A big congratulations to Ben Rossen, who named the restaurant and the exact location of the portrait. Please email me with your mailing address to claim your cookbook. Thanks to all who played and see you back here on Monday afternoon for a whole new round of Where Am I Eating?
