Choice Eats 2012: Second Group of Participants Announced

The Village Voice has announced a second group of 17 restaurant, bakery, and chocolatier participants for its Choice Eats food festival. These join the 21 announced last Wednesday, bringing the total to 38 so far. The festival -- now in its fifth year and widely celebrated for its value and range of cuisines -- will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at the 69th Regiment Armory at East 26th and Lexington Avenue in the Curry Hill neighborhood, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Though VIP tix are sold out, regular-admission ducats ($50, including all you can eat and drink) are still available.

The newly announced booths: Bi LoKma, Culture: An American Yogurt Company, Del Posto, Ditch Plains, Emvi Chocolate, Goat Town, Littleneck, Luke's Lobster, Maima's Liberian Bistro & Bar, Mama's Food Shop, Max, Nicky's Vietnamese Sandwiches, No. 7 Sub, Northern Spy Food Co., Patacon Pisao, Robicelli's, and SCRATCHbread.

Previously announced: Buka, Chinese Mirch, Court Street Grocers, Dean Street, Edi and the Wolf, Fatty 'Cue, Gregory's 26 Corner Taverna, Kafana, Kelso Restaurant, La Morada, Nom Wah Tea Parlor, Northeast Kingdom, Ovelia Psistaria Bar, Singh's Roti Shop, Sparrow Tavern, Spicy Bampa, Tanoreen, Tenpenny, Testaccio, the Meatball Shop, and This Little Piggy Had Roast Beef.

The selection includes bistros, ma-and-pa eateries, sandwich shops, and fancy sit-down restaurants, and, as far as ethnic eats goes, the range currently features Liberian, Greek, Chinese, Indian, Bangladeshi, Italian, Colombian, Vietnamese, Nigerian, Serbian, Palestinian, Mexican, Indo-Chinese, New American, Panamanian, Malaysian, and Turkish. And there are more to be announced.
