Oh, Happy Day! Choice Eats Unveils Even More Restaurants

The big day's only three weeks away!

The Village Voice's fifth annual tasting event is rapidly approaching, and if you haven't yet purchased your tickets, here are seven more reasons why you should. Choice Eats has just announced that Despaña, Four & Twenty Blackbirds, Jimmy's No. 43, Nunu Chocolates, Peppa's Jerk Chicken, Xe May Sandwich Shop, and Xi'an Famous Foods will be joining in the fun. This brings the total of Choice Eats participants to a record-breaking 75, meaning you're going to find plenty of tasty treats to gorge yourselves on.

They join the already great list of eateries including Bep, Brooklyn Brine Co., Fay Da Bakery, Mile End Sandwich, Murray's Cheese, S'more Bakery, Smorgas Chef, Sheep Station, Vandaag, ZuZu Ramen, Allswell, Danny Macaroons, Dirt Candy, Joe Dough, Juliette, Kuma Inn, Kumquat Cupcakery, La Galette, Mexico Lindo, Mooncake Foods, O Lavrador, Porchetta, Quinto Quarto, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Sottocasa, the Blue Stove, the Good Batch, Umi Nom, Buka, Chinese Mirch, Court Street Grocers, Dean Street, Edi and the Wolf, Fatty 'Cue, Gregory's 26 Corner Taverna, Kafana, Kelso Restaurant, La Morada, Nom Wah Tea Parlor, Northeast Kingdom, Ovelia Psistaria Bar, Singh's Roti Shop, Sparrow Tavern, Spicy Bampa, Tanoreen, Tenpenny, Testaccio, the Meatball Shop, This Little Piggy Had Roast Beef, Bi LoKma, Culture: An American Yogurt Company, Del Posto, Ditch Plains, Emvi Chocolate, Goat Town, Littleneck, Luke's Lobster, Maima's Liberian Bistro & Bar, Mama's Food Shop, Max, Nicky's Vietnamese Sandwiches, No. 7 Sub, Northern Spy Food Co., Patacon Pisao, Robicelli's, and SCRATCHbread.

This year's Choice Eats will also feature guest-chef celebrity Ty-Lör Boring, of Bravo's hit show Top Chef: Texas. Ty-Lör will host a demo for all VIP ticket holders during the VIP hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Choice Eats will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the 69th Armory on Lexington Avenue in New York City. All VIP tickets for Choice Eats have sold out, and a limited number of General Admission tickets are still available.

And if you can't make the event, fear not. You'll have another chance at gluttony with the Choice Streets Food Truck tasting event, at the Intrepid on Tuesday, April 24, from 7 to 10 p.m., featuring more than 25 of the city's favorite mobile eateries. Tickets for that event go on sale beginning March 7.
