On Sunday, the Patriots will try to topple the Giants, but if you're not a football fan, what will you do while your friends scream at the television? Most likely, you'll eat. For some, Super Bowl Sunday marks the end of the post-holiday diet season, that time after New Year's when the gym fills up and everyone's on a juice fast. So, what food-centric rite will you partake in this Sunday?
If your plan is to stay in and order catering, then look no further than Cambodian sandwich purveyor Num Pang, which is showing off for the big day with a Super Pang. These three-food monsters come with elote-style corn and are available in seven of their best-selling flavors, including the pulled Duroc pork, pork belly with Asian pear, and a roasted cauliflower with eggplant spread and soy chili mayo that's vegetarian friendly. They're available for pickup or delivery.
Another excellent catering option comes courtesy of modern-Jewish joint Kutsher's Tribeca. They're offering a "party package" that includes turkey and pastrami sandwiches, plus a chopped-liver platter, lots of pickles, and more. Get on this one quick -- orders are only taken for a few minutes longer, literally.
If you need to get out of the house for the game, then Hell's Kitchen's Hotel Yotel will be the perfect place to make like a baller on Sunday. For $49 per person there will be free-flowing drinks, plus sliders, ribs, and wings.
Or head over to Cafe de la Esquina in Williamsburg, where you'll most likely find more partying then game-watching going on. Their fete includes drink specials to go with their killer chips and salsa and free shots every time the Giants score. The more touchdowns, the more soused the crowd becomes. Fun times for everyone, sports lovers and non.
