Last year, we mentioned that more than 30 restaurants were teaming up to raise money for New York farms affected by Hurricane Irene. Well, it turns out that more than 100 restaurants and food establishments participated in the fund-raiser, Dine Out Irene, and the organization garnered $47,375 dollars for the farms.

On September 25 of last year, restaurants like Red Farm, Red Rooster, Monkey Bar, Maialino, and Hill Country all donated 10 percent of the day's sales to the cause. The funds went to GrowNYC and Just Food, which then distributed them directly to farmers in need. Now that's some true table-to-farm dining.
