Liz Barclay Bunny chow at Kaia
In this week's Voice, Robert Sietsema checks out the city's newest South African spot, Kaia, and finds a grab bag of cuisines served there.
Adam Platt bestows one measly star on North End Grill: "These dishes are professionally prepared, for the most part, but if you're an experienced New York eater, there isn't much at the North End Grill that you haven't seen before."
Pete Wells gives the same restaurant two stars, praising chef Floyd Cardoz's food but adding a caveat about the vibe: "This may be the first major Danny Meyer restaurant that feels as if it grew not from an organic sympathy for its neighborhood but from a reading of the real estate market."
Steve Cuozzo heads to the Upper West Side to the Mediterranean-themed restaurant Loi, whose "hype machine makes you want to hop the N train to Astoria and not look back."
