Anthony Bourdain Attacks Paula Deen Again; Daniel Boulud Sues Buffalo Restaurant

Anthony Bourdain was fine form this week -- back to attacking his favorite target, Paula Deen. On Tuesday, he appeared on ABC's Good Morning America and went at Deen again, calling her decision to cook fattening food while hiding her diabetes "in excruciatingly bad taste, unconscionable, and cynical." That same day, Eater published an interview with the food personality, in which Bourdain said that he's "pissed" about Frank Bruni criticizing his comments about Deen in a Times op-ed piece. (Bruni called them "ill-timed elitism.") Well, Bourdain might be mad, but he's clearly not sorry.

Anthony Bourdain is a burned out alcholic line cook who couldn't cut it anymore and went traveling. He loves everything he eats because he is so drunk he doesn't know the difference. Sometimes, he is so inebriated he  is unintelligible. He is using Paula Deen to get publicity and it will backfire on him, he needs to get a life..

She has a preventable (by diet) illness and still heavily (pun intended) promotes cooking with every known causative agent and ingredient to that disease.. I understand the hatred for Bourdain as he's more that just a bit douchey, but you do have to admit Paula Deen is irresponsible and doing a public disservice.

Anyway, I've got a few friends who were culinary understudies to Paula Deen. All reports of her personality and abilities are negative. She treats her staff like crap and swears like a sailor off camera.. but when that red record light comes on she emphasizes her southern accent and is a sweet as can be. She's a complete fraud.

@Guest Excuse me..Mrs. Deen  is no more "irresponsible" for cooking great food that can harm in "EXCESS" than your momma was for doing the same thing..Furthermore, Bourdain's bad case of arrogant ass  is "preventative" by prudence..or "RESERVATION"..

Although I consider myself a big fan, Bourdain is starting to get a bit annoying.  Tony is charming in part because he fully appreciated his incredible circumstances which catapulted him into his current position, and maintained an aw-shucks sort of humility about him as he encountered the world while freely admitting that this was all a blur to him and that he was just a novice trying to make sense of everything he was experiencing.  Now, with everybody constantly telling him how great he is, and hanging out with all of the cool kids, he has taken on a somewhat different persona in which he seems to know -- and have strong opinions about -- everything.  If you contrast the early Cook's Tour series through the most recent No Reservations, you will notice that he has become much more opinionated about things that only a few years ago he confessed to knowing nothing about.  I chuckled a bit as I watched the -- still interesting and excellent -- Moçambique episode in which Tony now seems to have no problem sharing his purported expertise on African history in addition to discussion of his food and travels.  I was much more put off however by his arrogant, naive, and unkind twitter comments which accompanied the show, spouting vehement opinions on matters he seems to know nothing about -- and this sort of thing seems to be becoming more common with him.  Don't get me wrong, I am still a huge Tony Bourdain fan, and will continue to read all of his books and watch all of his shows, and I would absolutely love to have dinner or a drink with the guy and talk about food.  It could be though that despite what an interesting person he is, that all of this well earned sucess is starting to all go to his head and turning him into a bit of a dick, which would be a pity.
