Our 5 Best German Beer Halls
Alexia Nader Giant Bavarian pretzel at Berry Park
3. Berry Park You won't find waiters in lederhosen at Berry Park, but this North Williamsburg hall serves some of the most delicious, buttery pretzels in the city, and has a solid beer list (12 brews on tap), two giant TVs tuned to soccer games, and a sunny rooftop beer garden. 4 Berry Street, Brooklyn, 718-782-2829
Alexia Nader Happy hour!
2. Lederhosen Don't be fooled by the size of this unassuming West Village joint, which we named our best German restaurant last year. Fresh brews, homemade pretzels, and juicy bratwursts heaped with sauerkraut await. 39 Grove Street, 212-206-7691
Alexia Nader Saturday afternoon at Radegast
1. Radegast Hall and Biergarten It's almost impossible not to have a good time at this spacious Williamsburg beer hall, furnished with two bars and a grilling station where you can choose from seven types of freshly cooked sausages. Radegast hosts live bands and beer tastings year-round, but it's in especially fine form during Oktoberfest. 113 North Third Street, Brooklyn, 718-963-3973
Alexia Nader Go for the venison sausage.
