$1.25 Three-Course Prix Fixe Menu Today at Millesime

Talk about an extremely cheap eat. Millesime, a Murray Hill restaurant inside the Carlton Hotel on Madison Avenue will be offering an insanely priced three-course prix fixe menu during lunch and dinner service today. And when we say insanely priced, we mean insanely cheap.
The price tag: $1.25 per person.
It is vintage prices ("millesime" actually means "vintage" in French) for a vintage building.
The restaurant will be opening the original doors to the 1904 building, which leads right into the restaurant from 29th Street. The door originally opened in 1904 as the entrance to the Seville Hotel.
The deal is most definitely a steal. Millesime, which serves up French-inspired seafood dishes, is headed by two-Michelin-starred chef Laurent Manrique. Entrée prices on a regular dinner day range from $20 (for the salmon escalope) to $45 (for the sirloin steak au poivre).
The three-course menu for $1.25 will consist of an oyster (singular) Rockefeller, a choice of chicken Marengo or lamb stew with mint sauce, and an ice cream sundae. Soft drinks, coffee, and tea will be 25 cents.
Lunch service is 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and at dinner, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. No reservations will be taken. First come, first served.
