What's in the world's most expensive burger?

Apparently Japanese Waygu beef, 10-herb white truffle butter, Salish Alderwood smoked Pacific sea salt, cheddar cheese, hand-made and cave-aged for 18 months by famed cheesemaker James Montgomery of Somerset, England. Plus shaved black truffles, a fried quail egg, a blini, creme fraiche, Kaluga caviar and a white truffle-buttered Campagna roll.

If that wasn't a mouthful already, the burger is finished off with a golden "Fleur de Lis" toothpick encrusted with diamonds.

The burger was invented by Serendipity 3 in celebration of National Hamburger Month (and apparently also National BBQ Month) and costs $295.

Although the price and ingredients may be over-the-top, the cause isn't.

All proceeds will go toward the Bowery Mission, which serves homeless New Yorkers. The burger has already officially cinched the Guinness World Record for most expensive hamburger. It's available for a limited time with a 48-hour notice.
