James Beard Awards
The James Beard Awards are tonight at 6. For those not attending, it seems that even New York landmarks are celebrating the national food awards. According to Zagat, the Empire State Building will be donning the colors orange and yellow to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the awards.

Manhattan Cocktail Classic
Friday marks the beginning of a week-long festival celebrating cocktails and culture. It starts off with a gala at the New York Public Library where there will be more than 25,000 cocktails on tap. The five-day event include seminars, tastings, and a series of sipping sessions at bars throughout the city. Some events are sold out already.

City Grit NYC
City Grit NYC is a "culinary salon" that will be hosting two supper-style dinners this week. Thursday, May 10 will be Breakfast for Dinner served tapas style, and May 13 will be an outdoor shrimp boil. Tickets can be purchased online.
