Radish Fritters from Saint's Alp Teahouse (39 Third Avenue, 212-598-1890)
The menu at this Taiwanese teahouse is quite similar to the fare at the Hong Kong cafes we have visited -- lots of small, fried apps and "toasts" with peanut butter or Nutella.
Here's what can be said of these crisp cubes: The shape is different, sure, but the mouthfeel and taste are identical to a decent helping of turnip cake -- simple and fun.
