Could online streaming be the future of food shows? Former Food Network and Cooking Channel executive Bruce Seidel has signed on with YouTube to launch HUNGRY, the latest content channel which is set to feature a "blend of how-to and celebrity-driven food videos," according to the Associated Press.

"The wonderful thing about YouTube is it has 800 million users worldwide, and they all need to eat," Seidel told the AP in a telephone interview. "I'd like to get just 1 percent of them."

Videos will stick to the time frame of one to three minutes, with new episodes posted weekly. Series already in production include Brothers Green, which features a pair of Brooklyn brothers who are musicians tackling new culinary challenges every week, and Casserole Queens, two Austin women who favor retro food and entertaining.

The channel will also feature Food Network alumnus Duff Goldman, in Duff's Food World, a "irreverent variety show focused on food pop culture, including visits to unusual restaurants and spotlights of humorous food clips from the Web and TV."

HUNGRY also plans to feature episodes on pork, gluten-free cooking, and Italian desserts.
