Oysters may be getting all the press today but clams have been a New York staple since the 19th century, and the clam has made a comeback everywhere from Brooklyn to Bridgehampton.

There will be a clam talk tomorrow, August 1, at the South Street Seaport Museum . The museum will be teaming up with the New Amsterdam Market for a panel discussion on clam culture.

Panelists include journalist Hugh Merwin, folklorist Nancy Solomon, and clammer Alex Duschere. The discussion will be moderated by Robert LaValva of the New Amsterdam Market.

Tickets are $12. Fork in the Road readers can get 50% off tickets by entering the code Seaport801 at checkout. The event starts at the 7:00 pm. Reservations required.
