Say Hello to Moti Mahal Delux, Hot Bread Almacen

Moti Mahal Delux is opening at the Upper East Side today. As a departure from almost every other Indian restaurant in the city, they will be serving a menu sans chicken tikka masala. Instead, the star dish will be the signature butter chicken. [Fork in the Road]

Hot Bread Kitchen is opening a retail location today called Hot Bread Almacen. Located in a Spanish Harlem food market, the store features bread selections such as challah and seasonal focaccia. The company is a non-profit, social enterprise bread bakery that provides low-income and foreign-born women with paid training to become professional bakers. [Fork in the Road]

Bia Bar & Grill recently opened in South Williamsburg. There's an outdoor space and they serve Vietnamese fare such as grilled meats, pho, banh mi, and rice dishes. There are thirteen taps, a working piano, and a rooftop with umbrella-equipped tables. [Thrillist]

High-end popcorn is coming to Orchard today. Pop Karma sells "hand-crafted" popcorn. They are partnering up with Frank Organics to feature their olive oils in the popcorn product. Stephane Lemagnen, who most recently worked at the Cafe Boulud, has been hired as the store's chef consultant. [Bowery Boogie]

Socarrat Paella Bar opened their third location in Midtown East. The new location of the paella eatery is at 953 Second Avenue. [Tasting Table]
