Welcome to 100 Dishes to Eat Now, the tasty countdown leading up to our "Best of 2012" issue. Tune in every day (weekends, too!) for a new dish from the Fork in the Road team.

Chao Thai Too is the recent offshoot of Elmhurst fave Chao Thai, and only a few blocks from its sire. The menu of the new place is vastly expanded, challenging Sripraphai in its multiregional reach.

Naturally, though, Isaan food from Siam's northeast is still front and center. The sour Thai sausage pictured above is a case in point: tasty tart links studded with giant shards of garlic. It comes with sliced raw ginger, purple onions, and Thai bird chiles, to be wrapped up in the lettuce leaves provided before eating.

Really, there's no more perfect bar snack (or appetizer) in the world.
