A Taste of the 2012 Food Film Fest

Categories: Events

Tickets go on sale today for the 2012 Food Film Festival, which will run October 17 - 21. To get in the mood, here's a trailer for Mickle's Pickle, a film about the complicated theft of one small town's beloved pickle sign (it looks really fun!).

This year's festival will feature 40 food films (18 of which are premieres). To eat, there will be oysters from Bulls Bay, South Carolina, pig tails from Brooklyn Star, and some of those hand-forged doughnuts from Seattle cult-favorite, Top Pot.

We're excited about "Sugar Shack" a documentary about the Canadian maple-syrup season and "Ramen Dreams," which will explore blogger Keizo Shimamoto's obsession with ramen -- Shimamoto is a Japanese-American cook who gave up his job as a programmer in 2009, moved to Japan, and began working in a Tokyo ramen shop.
