Heineken is releasing two new beers in the U.S. this month: Amstel Wheat and Tecate Michelada.

According to Reuters, Amstel Wheat will be sold in bottles in the Northeast, Chicago, and Minneapolis after a year-long test of the beer on draught.

Tecate, a Mexican beer Heineken acquired in 2010, will be the first canned, ready-to-drink michelada sold in the United States. A michelada, popular in Mexico, is a beer cocktail that combines beer with lime, salt, spices and hot sauce.

The new product releases are attempts by the Dutch brewer to improve its business in the key U.S. market, where it has previously been "an under-innovator in an under-innovated category."
