Salmonella Outbreak in Trader Joe's Peanut Butter

Trader Joe's is recalling its Valencia Creamy Salted Peanut Butter made with sea salt after a series of salmonella outbreaks linked to the product. Customers who have purchased the product can bring it into any Trader Joe's store for a full refund.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports a total of 29 people infected with the outbreak strain of salmonella bredeney from 18 states.

Most people infected with salmonella develop diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps 12 to 72 hours after infection. The illness usually lasts four to seven days.
