Huang's memoir of the same name
Just as we're digging into our review copies of Eddie Huang's new memoir, which goes on sale next year, news comes that Huang will get his own food show on Vice.com this fall, also named Fresh Off the Boat. Huang was previously featured in Munchies, a Vice.com series where chefs act as guides on late-night food tours of the city.

Huang's new "genre-bending venture" will be travel heavy. We're promised some gritty exploration of Oakland (where Huang will hunt rabbits with biker gangs) and of Miami, (where Huang will feast on rice and beans with someone's drug dealer's grandma!).

Those familiar with Huang know we can certainly count on him to entertain, so we're looking forward to checking out the premiere on Monday, October 15. And meanwhile, here's a preview. [NYT]
