Sneak a Peek of East Village's New Macaron Parlour

After hustling for two years through the street vendor rite of passage, powerhouse couple Christina Ha and Simon Tung of the Macaron Parlour are opening the doors to their first storefront on 111 St. Marks Place tomorrow afternoon. They bake deliciously innovative macaron flavors like Gianduja, Candied Bacon with Maple Cream Cheese, Passion Fruit and the Elvis, a blend of peanut butter and banana filling. From a small business plan hatched in tiny shared kitchens to selling every Saturday at the Hester Street Fair, the Macaron Parlour was built upon a tremendous leap of faith where two near strangers went into business together, then ended up marrying each other. Pretty sweet, is it not?

As if choosing a macaron flavor wasn't difficult enough, they plan to offer an array of other baked goods like raspberry croissants, blondies, chocolate chip cookies, and will brew Blue Bottle coffee. Join them at the Parlour for a soft opening tomorrow, October 11 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and find them everyday at Madison Square Eats from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
