In Red Hook, most businesses are closed as they clean up damage from severe flooding. But Defonte's, Kennedy Fried Chicken, and Baked, are serving food today, and the bodegas that got their deliveries opened yesterday. And for the thousands of residents without power and water struggling to stay warm and well-fed today, there are also three food distributions going on around the neighborhood:

From noon to 2 p.m.
Red Hook Initiative is serving hot food at 767 Hicks Street (and taking donations of non-perishable food and water from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.)

Starting at noon
Around the flag pole at Lorraine and Columbia streets, the New York City Mayor's Office is distributing food.

Starting at 1 p.m.
In the Coffey Park basketball courts, FEMA and the Salvation Army will be offering food.
