When bankrupt food manufacturer Hostess announced its plans to shut down and sell assets after a series of nationwide employee strikes, fans wondered what the future might hold for Hostess products like Ding Dongs, Wonder Bread, and Twinkies.

On The Daily Show last night, Jon Stewart had a go at the "diabetes dispensary." He also took a shot at its Twinkie the Kid mascot, seen left, calling it a "high-spirited, country-western dildo."

Although The Wall Street Journal reported that Georgia-based manufacturer Flowers Foods was one of the many companies with an eye on Hostess's 30-odd brands and plants, Stewart reminds us that it might not be such a bad thing if the Hostess snacks fall out of production.
