Watch Harvard Students Send a Burger Into Space

What do college students do when they're not trying to get drunk or laid? They send food to space. At least that's what these five guys from Harvard did last week when they attempted "Operation: Skyfall."
Renzo Lucioni, Nuseir Yassin, Daniel Broudy, Jamie Law-Smith, and Matt Moellman, juniors at the university, doused a burger in a shellac-like substance before launching it into the great unknown from Sturbridge, Massachusetts. The two-day-old meat was attached to a helium balloon before being outfitted with a GoPro camera and a GPS tracking device. According to Time, the hamburger reached an altitude of nearly 100,000 feet "before the balloon popped and sent the sandwich plummeting to earth."
This feat could easily seem like a waste of time, but it's possible that the same was said about the initial renderings of another Harvard student.
