Ivan Orkin's ramen at Smorgasburg

Ivan Orkin, the Long Island chef who hung out at Momofuku this summer and popped up at Smorgasburg, has his eye on a Lower East Side outpost.

Bowery Boogie reported that Community Board 3 released the SLA agenda for January, where Orkin applied for a full liquor license at 25 Clinton Street. This will be the very first New York location for Ivan Ramen, Orkin's wildly popular noodle bar in Tokyo.

Orkin told Eater that "nothing is definite," but if the success of his Momofuku pop-up taught us anything, it's that lines for Orkin's shio ramen with rye noodles can rival those at Ippudo.
