Nobu, Jewel Bako, Blue Ribbon... Duane Reade?

Call it "drugstore izakaya" -- California Walgreens are now employing trained sushi chefs. The company (which also own NY's ubiquitous Duane Reade chain) is aiming to lure customers into its stores by introducing "luxury items." And what else says "fancy pharmacy" besides raw fish? Fresh-pressed juices and octopus salad, according to the L.A. Times. Certain stores will also carry $300 bottles of tequila and allow customers to consult with a touch-screen "virtual bartender" before purchasing the pricey hooch. [L.A. Times]

The Duane Reade on Pine St in the Financial District already has 'em.
