Angelo Sosa's Social Eatz closed on March 1 in Midtown East. Ryan Sutton tweeted a letter he found posted on the restaurant door yesterday morning that announced its shutter. Sosa Restaurant Group will debut a new restaurant concept in the same location over the next few weeks. Sosa posted on SocialEatz.com, "Some of your favorite Social Eatz dishes may just make a comeback appearance in 2013." 232 E. 53rd St.
'Ino, on Bedford Street, closed earlier this week. The panini place had been a favorite in the West Village for 15 years, and its owners, Jen and Jason Denton, released a farewell statement on Facebook. Though they did not give a reason for the closing, they said, "We hope to open a new location where we can welcome you once again." Jason Denton's other restaurants, 'inoteca, Betto, Indie Food and Wine, and Cantina Corsino, are still open. 21 Bedford St.
Chelsea's Casa Havana closed, according to Jeremiah Moss. The phone is disconnected and the diner's social-media presence has been silent. In 2007, owner Tom Vicari turned what was then Havana Chelsea into its current incarnation. He kept the chef and a neon sign that read "Best Cuban Sandwiches." (But that didn't stop the Voice from calling it a fake.) 688 Tenth Ave.
