What's Your Longest-Standing Regular Dinner Joint?

In the whirlwind of this city's restaurant openings, we sometimes forget about the institutions that have quietly held down their corners of the boroughs for decades, working daily to adapt to the times while remaining true to their original eras. And in the process, they often pick up an eclectic collection of regulars.

We wrote about one of those spots, Marco Polo, last week. According to Marco Chirico, who owns the restaurant with his father, Joseph (also the founder), the Carroll Gardens restaurant once kept a standing reservation for Joe DiMaggio on the books and has staff that has been with the business for at least 15 years. And in that time, the restaurant has amassed a following with old memories of the significance of the place: "Today, people come in and say, 'I had my christening here' or 'I had my baptism here,'" says Chirico. "A lot of people have taken part in the restaurant over the years, and the restaurant has always participated in what's going on in the neighborhood."

It also boasts regulars that have been coming for more than a decade. Says Broolynite1960:

Ahhh Marco Polo, such a great restaurant me and my wife have been going there for over 15 years!

And Chirico says there's also a diner that's been gracing the restaurant's tables since the place opened 30 years ago.
