ZZ's Clam Bar, New Amsterdam Market, and NYC's First Fatburger in Today's Neighborhood News
ZZ's Clam Bar, 169 Thompson Street
Last night, Diner's Journal broke the news that the team behind Torrisi, Parm, and Carbone is switching up the concept at the address that was slated to become the Lobster Club, a sandwich shop they planned to open at 169 Thompson Street. When the space debuts on Saturday, it will be ZZ's Clam Bar instead, a 12-seat homage to raw seafood.
New Amsterdam Market, Old Fulton Fish Market
Via the Tribeca Citzen comes word that the New Amsterdam Market's first gathering of 2013 on June 23 at the South Street Seaport will be its only gathering this summer. According to the market's Twitter account, it will return in the fall.
Fatburger, 509 Third Avenue
The Fatburger eagle lands tomorrow, when the West Coast-based chain opens its first New York City location in Murray Hill at 509 Third Avenue. (Or, perhaps more accurately, re-opens, since the 60-year-old chain has been here before). This joint will top your cheeseburger with an egg, grilled mushrooms, or guacamole, but its real claim to fame is its XXXL burger, a triple stack of beef patties that comprise 24 ounces of ground meat.
