Proof that the New York City juice craze is only getting stronger: Liquiteria, which first rolled out cold-pressed juices to the East Village more than 15 years ago, is getting ready to undergo its first expansion, with plans to open at least two shops in the coming months.

The original location of the juice bar boasts a loyal following of health fanatics, who stop by on a daily basis for a number of different green concoctions, the Beets Me (made with beets, of course), and the cleansing, hangover-curing Royal Flush. Because of that and its long history, we called the juice bar "the gold standard in fresh-pressed juices" when we named it one of our 10 best juice bars in NYC.

Plans are now in the works to expand that same model throughout New York City, starting with the west side: The Chelsea location is slated to open the week of July 21 at 102 Eighth Avenue. Union Square will get an outlet at 26 East 17th Street in September.

While those spots will boast a similar juice lineup, "they're rolling out an entire new menu of food items," says a rep for the company, and all items will be "organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free." Look for morning carrot cake loaf, a lunchtime Asian quinoa noodle salad, chia pudding, and coconut yogurt with mueslix.

And don't expect the juice-monger to stop there: "As of right now, there are plans to roll out more locations," says the rep, though exactly where remains to be seen.
