Bushwick Block Party
Hand-drawn T-shirt contest, bikini keg stands, and Roberta's. This won't be your typical suburban block party
From Riesling cruises to restaurant weeks (month)--not to mention the chance to try multiple kinds of barbecue--July has been a busy month if you're into food, and the action continues this weekend. With a pair of craft beer parties and a Peruvian Independence day celebration, there's plenty of action in store for those who opted to bow out of a summer share and so find themselves stuck in the city. Here's what to do now that the work week is over:

Alphabet City Beer Cruise, North Cove Marina, 385 South End Avenue, Saturday, 2 p.m.

Does setting sail with a boat full of booze sounds exciting? Head to the North End Marina, where you can board a 1920s yacht with Alphabet City Beer Co. and raise a glass to the recently reopened Statue of Liberty while cruising around the edges of Manhattan. Included in the voyage is unlimited craft beer, select sandwiches, and the opportunity to take a dip in New York Harbor. Secure your spot on deck for $64.29, and don't forget to pack a pair of swim trunks.

Fourth Annual Bushwick Block Party, Roberta's, Saturday, 261 Moore Street, Brooklyn, noon

Roberta's teams up with Arancini Bros. and Brooklyn Star to offer treats to what could very well be the world's largest gathering of hipsters. A full lineup of live performances includes Action Bronson--who will also have his food truck up and running--and events like the bikini keg stand replace the traditional dunk tank. Ten percent of all pizza sales will go to support the St. John's Bread & Life Program, which addresses hunger and poverty in Brooklyn and Queens.

NY State Food & Beer Expo, East River State Park, 90 Kent Avenue, Brooklyn, Saturday, 10 a.m.

Smorgasburg isn't the only reason to take the ferry to Williamsburg this weekend. Over twenty New York State microbreweries--including Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, which made our list of the 10 Best Breweries of NYC(-ish)--will join an assortment of farm-to-table food purveyors, with items like cheeseburgers and cider helping people get into an Empire State of mind. Tickets start at $11.54.

Peruvian Independence Day Party, Los Americanos, 305 Church Street, Saturday and Sunday

Pisco reigns supreme this weekend as this Tribeca spot celebrates Peru's independence with food and drink specials. For $20, revelers can enjoy a special pisco-based cocktail by Los Americanos bartender Moses Laboy alongside a traditional Peruvian ceviche or potato salad. Pupusas, empanadas, and entrees like Dominican fried chicken with citrus-garlic dipping sauce will also be available via the regular menu.
