Hey Mambo's funky interior, modeled after the 1920's Orient Express, features a new bar menu during happy hour
Before you drop a ton of cash prepping for that pig roast, why not save a few bucks? Here's a look at this week's cheap drink specials--all of which can help you save a bit to bring home the bacon:

Hey Mambo, 487 Amsterdam Avenue

From 4 to 7 p.m., denizens of (or visitors to) the Upper West Side can sip $5 glasses of wine and draft beer while taking in pieces from owner Tuvia Feldman's private art collection. For those seeking a bit more sustenance, a new globally inspired bar menu features items like moules frites and toast with a lentil and walnut spread. Fans of history may just want to opt for an old-school cocktail: The space is modeled after a 1920's Orient Express railroad car.

The Recovery Room Bar and Grill, 1446 First Avenue

While you're more likely to forget than recover during a happy hour that runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the array of drink specials at this Yorkville local are worth writing down. $2 select shots, $3 bottles, and $4 drafts are just a few of the cheap drink specials you'll find here. There are also $5 glasses of wine and well drinks. For those recovering alongside friends, $12 and $16 pitchers of beer help wash away a hangover ... at least for a little while.

Woodwork, 583 Vanderbilt Avenue, Brooklyn

Whether you refer to it as soccer or football, $4 pints and well drinks from 4 to 7 p.m. will have you screaming GOAL at this sports shrine before you know it. The selection of drafts ranges from Guinness to Empire IPA, but the best value comes from sharing a special. The sports bar offers a "Fuckit Bucket" featuring all six of the bars $3 beers for $15. If you don't like vulgar sounding drink specials, there's a "choose your own adventure" $3 beer and well shot combo for $6.
