'Tis the season to eat for good causes.
Since fall harvest is a time to celebrate a job well done, it's only fair that you indulge a little yourself. Here's a look at a few ways to do that this week.

Blue Smoke & Brewery Ommegang Beer Pairing Dinner, Blue Smoke Battery Park City, 255 Vesey Street, Monday, 7 p.m.

Cooperstown's Brewery Ommegang makes its way down to Battery Park City for an evening of Belgian inspired beers and southern-style dishes. The four-course meal will feature hay roasted prawns, poutine, and duck; a dessert course of Baked Alaska caps off the feast. Herbs and vegetables from nearby Battery Park Urban Farm will also be featured in various dishes. Tickets are $75.

Nordic Food Festival, multiple locations, Tuesday through Monday

With the growing popularity of Nordic cuisine in New York, it was only a matter of time before the city's most prolific chefs gathered for a collaborative effort. The inaugural Nordic Food Festival will be overseen by Aquavit's Marcus Jenmark, and the local lineup includes chefs Mads Refslund from ACME and Daniel Burns of Luskus. Additionally, acclaimed chefs from across the Atlantic will cook up a variety of collaborative dinners throughout the week. For those interested in learning preparation techniques, a roster of classes will be held at The International Culinary Center. Dinner packages include a Norwegian seafood dinner as well as specific Icelandic and Finnish courses. A full lineup, along with option to purchase ticket or class packages, can be viewed on the festival's website.

Restaurant Management Bootcamp, Lower Manhattan Center, 110 William Street, Thursday, 2 p.m.

If you've ever wondered what it takes to run a restaurant, this complimentary course might help shed some light on the process. Learn about the ins and outs of managing a staff, what permits you'll need, and how to turn your idea into a reality. The course might even help you respond appropriately to those obnoxious online reviews. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis.

Plate by Plate: Project by Project NY's Annual Benefit, 82 Mercer Street, 82 Mercer Street, Friday, 6 p.m.

'Tis the season to gather in a room and eat lots of food for a good cause. Featuring a lineup that includes treats from Bell Book & Candle and Edi & The Wolf, this year's benefit will also feature a mixology contest and a silent auction. Proceeds from the event support the efforts of the Film News Now Foundation (FNN). General admission tickets are $135 and include access to all food and beverage tastings; secure your spot to help a non-profit--and your stomach--on the event's website.
