In the mood for all you can eat street food? The 2013 Vendy Awards is this Saturday in Sunset Park
Now that your days off don't mean getting buried in the sand, you're going to want to fill those 48 work-less hours with something productive. Here's a look at this weekend's upcoming events, where you can still shovel ... some tasty food into your mouth.

Fourth Annual Pig Island, 1 Beard Street, Brooklyn, Saturday, 11:30 a.m.

Pigging out isn't always acceptable, but it's totally fine when you're surrounded by like-minded gluttonous individuals. This annual event showcases a fine selection of New York chefs riffing on the Other White Meat, and live music, cooking demonstrations, and a chance to snuggle up on the waterfront are all part of the scheduled island activities. Advance tickets start at $75 and include all-you-can-eat food and drink plus transportation via the Ikea ferry. If you've got time to kill before heading back to Manhattan, head to the after party at recently opened Hometown BBQ featuring brews from Red Hook's own Sixpoint Brewery.

Watson Adventures' SoHo Chocolatey Scavenger Hunt, multiple locations, Saturday, 2 p.m.

Running around SoHo for chocolate sounds a whole lot better than waiting on line in SoHo for a cronut--and a search, at least, burns a lot more calories. This scavenger hunt will visit a variety of chocolatiers, bakeries, and specialty sweets shops while you live out your own Law & Order fantasy. Tickets are $24.50; bring an additional $10 for purchases during the hunt.

2013 NYC Vendy Awards, Industry City, 148 39th Street, Brooklyn, Saturday, 2:30 p.m.

Street vendors from around the city will gather in Sunset Park to dish out their quick service food and drink and perhaps collect an award or two. This event honors the efforts of street vendors during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, as these local businesses helped contribute nearly 350,000 hot meals to victims of the storm. Tickets include all-you-can-eat food and drink as well as the chance to crown select category winners like the People's Taste Award. A portion of the ticket cost is a tax-deductible contribution to support the local business efforts of The Street Vendor Project. Reserve your chance to fill up on street meat without fear of judgment .
