Looking to break out your creativity during the government furlough? Why not check out the 4th Annual Public Art Potluck this Wednesday
Another week is starting up, and if the government has given you some downtime, you're probably at a loss for things to do. You could hop on a bus and act like a tourist for the day, or you could occupy your time like a local. But even if you're not furloughed, here's where to get jolly with food and drink:

The Smith Street Classic, multiple locations, Brooklyn, every day through October 30th, 5 to 7 p.m.

Whether you head out this week or not, this month-long celebration to find the best cocktail on Smith Street should find a way onto your schedule at some point. Purchase a ticket for $35, and you'll get a cocktail at each of the participating restaurants along the strip including Dassara and Le Bar Tabac. A portion of the proceeds will go to support the efforts of the Robin Hood Relief Fund.

Brooklyn Shaken & Stirred, The Green Building, 452 Union Street, Tuesday, 6 p.m.

Like sorting through a vintage clothing store for a pair of perfectly trimmed bell bottoms, finding the best cocktail in Brooklyn isn't an easy task. That doesn't mean you can't have fun trying. Cocktail aficionados will vote on the boro's best specialty drinks from spots like Huckleberry Bar and Vodou Bar; an assortment of Brooklyn-based small batch spirits and local wine will also be featured. Food from a selection of restaurants including Dinosaur Bar-B-Que and Sembrado is also included in the ticket price of $55, though you can save $10 off the listed price by using code BKEXPOSED. Reserve your right to crown a cocktail champion.

4th Annual Public Art Potluck, University Settlement, 184 Eldridge Street, Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.

The Laundromat Project brings arts programming into laundromats and other everyday spaces, and this dinner gives you a chance to get to know the mission as well as the artists. Chat up the creative folks over a meal prepared by Chef Elizabeth Reyes. Tickets start at $35.
