Brooklyn Oenology Winery Tasting Room offers a buy one, get one free special
While the weather forecasters throw darts to predict how the rest of the week will turn out, the rest of us would probably like to have a little consistency in our lives. Hence, the midweek happy hour. Here's a look at some places you might like to get stuck inside whenever the next tornado or hailstorm falls upon us.

Kipsey's, 438 Second Avenue

From 4 to 7 p.m., fans of homemade wine coolers--and we're not talking about the kind you served out of a box in college--can choose their favorite flavor for $6. The kitchen specializes in American comfort food from scratch, and it also gets in on the action by offering a $3 burger or pulled pork slider among other snacks. Additional specials include $3 bottles of Miller Light, $4 select glasses of wine, and a $4 margarita.

Brooklyn Oenology Winery Tasting Room, 209 Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn

Happy hour runs from opening until 7 p.m. at this spot, and you'll probably have enough cash to take a bottle home after taking advantage of the buy-one-get-one-free by-the-glass special for any BOE wine. The tasting room also features a variety of weekday specials, and on the last Wednesday of every month, you can partake in a round table Q & A discussion led by BOE winemaker and founder Alie Shaper. Class participants also receive 10 percent off any wines or spirits they purchase on the day of the discussion.

Loreley, 7 Rivington Street

Through the end of October, "Weihenstephan Wednesdays" will replace the traditional happy hour for an extended Oktoberfest celebration.
Three beers from the brewery--which has been called the oldest continuously operating brewery in the world--will be $2 off, and guests can keep the glass they'll be drinking from all night. The special will run all night long; stop by on a Tuesday for the same offer on Hofbrau brews.

Dublin 6, 575 Hudson Street

If you've ever strolled through the West Village after a shopping trip and needed a break for your feet or wallet, keep this refined Irish pub in mind. During the hours of 4 to 7 p.m., patrons receive $2 off all drafts and select bottled beers. There's also a bar menu featuring bites like bangers and mash and fish and chips along with nightly drink specials for those looking to hang out in the historic area well into the night.
