This New England seafood combo straddles summer and fall.

We're getting a bit of a warm weather revival this week, which might explain our sudden intense desire to have a lobster roll, a foodstuff we really peg to beach season. But when we popped into Luke's Lobster to get our fix, we noticed an offering we'd never spotted before that seemed an ideal way to sate our craving while acknowledging it's almost fall: the soup and half roll combo. This nets you half a slice of griddled white bread overflowing with sweet, succulent meat drizzled in citrus and dusted generously with Old Bay plus a cup of clam chowder; the Luke's version is rich and creamy though not gut-bustingly heavy, and it bobs with a hefty portion of tender clams and soft potatoes.
