Banksy? Nope, it's just Art Bar, a quirky West Village staple
If the weather is finally catching up with you, warming up with a hot cider during Cider Week might be just the drink that hits the spot. Then again, we're pretty sure any cheap glass of booze will make you forget about your troubles for awhile. Here's our weekly round-up of places around town to grab a cold one in order to fight being cold.

duckduck, 161 Montrose Avenue, Brooklyn

If the two-for-one Rolling Rock and Narragansett Lager specials don't persuade you, perhaps the multiple beer-and-shot combos will. From 4 to 8 p.m., find a chair and stay awhile as almost all draft beers are $1 off, supplementing a list of cheap drinks like the appropriately named L-I-V-I-N, a shot of Cuervo with a Highlife back. The bar's decor mimics a weird museum with a staircase to nowhere and rubber duckies, making the place a casual spot in a neighborhood known for artistic endeavors.

Camaradas El Barrio, 2241 First Avenue

From 3 to 7 p.m., $15 pitchers of sangria, $3 bottled beer, and a weekly "Wayback Wednesday" dance party makes this Latin restaurant a good stop when you're spending an evening out of the house. Camaradas also features a variety of entertainment ranging from art exhibits to burlesque performances plus Puerto Rican pub fare to supplement your booze. While the music may put you in the mood to grab the bar's signature sangria, ownership recently expanded its menu to include fine spirits and mixed drinks inspired by the Caribbean and Latin America.

Art Bar, 52 Eighth Avenue

In an area known for grandeur, Art Bar's ability to keep the good deals going after 20 years in business is a major reason it's a hit with multiple generations. All draft beer, well drinks, and house wine are half priced from 4 to 7 p.m.; drink up and try to score the couch in the back room so you can observe some local art on display.

Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse, 233 Park Avenue South

Don't let the price of the steak fool you: This restaurant's bar features a reasonable happy hour complete with a special menu that won't leave you in debt. From 4 to 8 p.m., patrons can order up a $4 domestic beer, a $7 glass of featured wine, or a $6 well drink. Bites range from $6 to $8 and feature items like maple-glazed quail and a slider sampler. Bring a friend or work on your business pitch with a bartender; either way, this spot's happy hour is a great way to sample a place you'd otherwise have to drop a fair amount of cash on for dinner.
