If you've recently been to the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell in Penn Station, you might want to think about where that extra crunch in your Cool Ranch Doritos taco comes from: On November 8 the Department of Health shut down the establishment -- which is also connected to a Nathan's Hot Dogs, Colombo's Yogurt, and a Horton's -- after finding bugs that indicate the presence of sewage.

Among the violations cited in the closure: the presence of live roaches in the establishment, foods needing refrigeration kept at too high temperatures, the lack of vermin-proofing, and "food/refuse/sewage-associated (FRSA) flies," according to DOH records.

In the immortal words of rappers Das Racist, "I'm at the combination pizza hut and taco bell. / What?"

What, indeed.

The DOH has been in the news a lot lately: Last week, it shuttered LES's Mission Chinese Food for the second time, forcing an overhaul of that space, and yesterday, Crain's released a report on Chinatown's restaurants, half of which hold B or C grades.
