If you're still hitting the gym at this point of January, we salute your dedication to healthy living for 2014. But if you've given up on reenacting the Tour De France on an indoor cycle while listening to Katy Perry, here's a look at what's going on this week.

Brewmaster Dinner with Empire Brewing Company, Sons of Essex, 133 Essex Street, Monday, 7 p.m.

Syracuse-based Empire Brewing Company will be on display during a four-course family style dinner, where head brew guru Tim Butler will guide beer tastings paired to dishes like Saigon-style Manila clams and braised short ribs. Beers include the brewery's IPA and a "black magic" stout for the dessert course. Tickets are $59 per person, and reservations can be made by contacting the restaurant directly.

So You Want To Be a Food Producer?, 61 Local, 61 Bergen Street, Brooklyn, Wednesday, 7 p.m.

If you're ready to quit a career in finance for exciting pastures of the artisanal food industry, $10 secures you a seat at this informational seminar led by Fare Trade NYC. The class will cover the basics of strategies necessary to get your product idea onto shelves, and it includes an appearance by Courtney Feemster of Love Sweet Love Pralines, who is a graduate of the organization's program. Access the program's application, due January 26.

A Conversation in Art & Food, Ginny's Supper Club, 310 Lenox Avenue, Wednesday, 7 p.m.

Join in a celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. at the basement lounge of Red Rooster Harlem will host a celebration of the American civil rights icon through artwork and reflection. Artist Derrick Adams will showcase six of his original creations, and the restaurant will serve a menu inspired by his work featuring dishes like jerk spiced yams, duck, and a poached quail egg inside cornbread. Tickets are $75 and can be reserved by contacting the lounge directly or via the ticketing website.

50 Great Portuguese Wines, Celeste Bartos Forum - New York Public Library, Fifth Avenue at 42nd Street, Thursday, 6 p.m.

Joshua Greene, editor and publisher of Wine & Spirits, hand picked 50 Portuguese wines for this vinous event. For $85, attendees can mix and mingle with some of the United States' top sommeliers and Portuguese wine makers while snacking on light bites. Guests will also have the chance to win a free trip for two to Portugal. Reserve a ticket.
