Any dose of springtime during a snowstorm is a must in our book. Iron Chef Ian Kittichai of Kittichai fame will present a dessert omakase introducing new additions to the spring menu such as a chocolate terrarium -- a mini world full of chocolate. Reservations for the omakase are required and can be made by contacting the restaurant directly; Kittichai himself will be on hand to present the omakase during the experience.

Want to taste beer made at home? For a suggested donation of $20, guests can sample unlimited pours from five homebrewers; the lineup includes a spiced porter, doppelback, and a rye farmhouse ale. The event is sponsored by and benefits the Dashing Whippets Running Team; reservations can be made in advance.
Essentials of Indian Cuisine: Know Your Masala -- Part 1 (Northern India), Bowery Culinary Center - Whole Foods, 95 East Houston Street, Saturday, 3 p.m.
It's about time you pick up a trick or two for the next time your dosa cravings act up. For $20, learn more about Indian spices like cumin and ginger as well as what different spice blends are used for select dishes. The menu includes items like spinach and onion pakoras and cauliflower masala among others; reserve a spot in advance.
Green Wine and Ham with Alan Richman, Booker and Dax, 207 Second Avenue, Sunday, 1 p.m.
GQ Magazine's resident restaurant guru and Momofuku beverage director Jordan Salcito will be on hand at this informative imbibing session, where guests will enjoy a 90 minute natural wine and country ham tasting followed by a 30 minute Q and A session. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased as part of a package or individually.
Getting the Band Back Together with Don Lee and John Deragon of PDT, Golden Cadillac, 13 First Avenue, Sunday, 5 p.m.
If you've given up on getting into PDT, forget scuttling through the phone booth and head instead to this '70's style bar for a cocktail throwback. Done Lee and John Deragon, who cut their teeth at the famous drinks lair, are getting behind the bar for the first time in three years to help raise funds for the upcoming Museum of Food and Drink; they'll mix up $8 drink specials like bay breezes while Booker and Dax's Dave Arnold describes the science behind mixology. The event is scheduled to last until 7 p.m. and admittance will be based on a first come, first serve basis.
