With the weather getting hotter, we know you need an excuse to leave your air conditioned abode. If you're not escaping to a rich friend's summer share, consider one of these events.

Grove Alley Makers Night, Hanover Place between Livingston and Fulton Streets, Brooklyn, Friday, 5 p.m.

This Friday, local artisans will convene in an alleyway with the support of the Gowanus Nite Market organizers, and the public is invited to participate in activities like building an eight foot dinosaur. Food trucks, beer, and a DJ spinning tunes are all part of the festivities.

Free Saturday Beer Tasting: Greenport Harbor, Malt & Mold, 221 East Broadway, Saturday, 3 p.m.

Save a trip to Long Island and sample Greenport Harbor brews like citrus IPA and summer ale. This free event includes plenty of cheese to sharpen the palate as well as information on what goes into the brewing process.

The PopUp Dinner Brooklyn 2014: A Benefit for the Prospect Park Alliance, Prospect Park, 95 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn, Saturday, 5 p.m.

At this pop-up dinner, the exact location of which will be revealed right before the event starts, guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic treats and meet other food explorers. Ben Folds is scheduled to make a guest appearance to serenade the crowd. Tickets are $35; make sure you wear white.

Empellón Pride Party, Empellón Taqueria, 230 West 4th Street, Sunday, noon

Celebrate Pride post-march south-of-the-border style with margaritas and mezcal cocktails. Alex Stupak's taqueria is offering a prix fixe menu plus a litany of drink specials to celebrate. You'll need a reservation.

Taste of New Orleans, Claw Daddy's, 185 Orchard Street, Sunday, 2 p.m.

If you're craving crawfish -- and you should be this time of year -- then head out to the Lower East Side this Sunday. For $25, you'll receive five tickets good for any beer or food item like wings, calamari, or a catfish po'boy. The tap line-up includes breweries like Captain Lawrence Brewing, Ommegang, and Louisiana's own Abita Brewing Co. Tickets will be available at the door, but you can also purchase in advance.

My Voice Nation Help

I quit working at shoprite to work online and with a little effort I easily bring in around $45 to 85 per/h. Without a doubt, this is the easiest and most financially rewarding job I've ever had. I actually started 6 months ago and this has totally changed my life. For more info visit my user name link......
