Fork in the Road Reviews Persimmon

This week, I'm reviewing Persimmon, Chef Youngsun Lee's new Korean prix-fixe spot in the East Village. Persimmon hasn't gotten much buzz for some reason; the only other review I know of is this one in New York Magazine. It's odd, because Lee is an alum of Momofuku, which couldn't be more high profile. In any case, I think it's great, and at $37 for a sprawling 5-course meal (and byob) it's a pretty good deal, too.

I disagree. Although Lee is an alum of another over-hyped dinning establishment in NYC, it does not mean that has the chops to create wouderful Lorean dishes. Our group as a whole, found them to be tasteless.
The concept is good, seasonal menus with a KOrean influence in a communal setting in NYC. It simply falls short.
