Michelle Obama on the Food Network

Paula Deen's gonna fatten her right up.

Sarah Palin makes me want to throw my television out the window and start setting shit on fire. Luckily for my neighbors, an email from the Food Network arrived just in time to calm me down. Just gaze at the picture above, breathe into a paper bag and think of hot lard. See? All better now.

On Paula Deen's Sept. 20th show (titled "Grease is the Word," of course), Deen will help Michelle Obama get down with the people by teaching her how to fry.

I love Paula Deen...reluctantly. Her show isn't so fantastic, but her voice is better than Valium. Just close your eyes and listen: "And now a halfa pounda butta....And some cream...And we're gonna fry that up in hot laaard." And if she's helping Michelle Obama reach out to lovers of Southern fried food, all the better.

From the press release:

On Saturday September 20th at 7:00pm ET/PT, Michelle gives Paula a taste of her family life on the road to the White House and shares fun facts, including the first meal she made for Barack, what kinds of local foods the family seeks out on the road and that Barack makes a mean chili! And, with Paula showing her secrets for frying up some popular American comfort foods, this is one party viewers won’t want to miss!

And Barak makes a mean chili! You hear that red staters? What's more American than making a mean chili?

I mean...besides American traditions like the high success rate of abstinence-only education, banning books from school libraries and mocking the silly notion of reading prisoners their rights. But chili is right up there!

Miss Congeniality says:

Gee,

Whoda thunk the idiots who ruined the Food network are liberals.

How bout putting Sarah Palin on and let her cook some moose stew up? Yeah, I didn't think so.

dude says:

Palin can't make it because she is busy inserting people into all the dinasaur shows on the Discovery Channel. It's in the Bible-look it up!

Knockout Zed says:

Honestly, Miss Congeniality, moose stew is sooooo Canadian!

I think Ms. Palin would be more suited to The Sedition Network.

B.K. Wright says:

Please leave Sarah Palin's kids alone. How would you like it, Michelle, if your kids were "trashed" on TV regarding their looks (not pretty) and spread all over newspapers? Show some respect!! That would be loving America!!

ANNA says:

Oh how we forget. The right always seems to have a selected memory problem. Let me refresh you. Remember when McCain said that Chelsey Clinton was ugly because she was Janet Reno's mother. Now if you want to go there we can. It's bad enough when women to it to each other but when a man mocks a child than it shows what a gossip cheap man he really is. Her child having a baby was brought up first by Ms Palin. She brings her baggage into the show. How long did the right wing go after the Clintons nonstop. So please don't give us your high and might tone. What goes around comes around.

Donna says:

Anna, I couldn't agree with you more! The Right Wing seems to forget all the times they bash anyone from the Left or Middle for that matter. They need to keep to the issues at hand. Can't wait to see Michelle Obama cooking with Paula Deen...Go Gals!

You go Michelle and have a good time. Dont you guys worry about trailer trash talking about everyone when they have so much garbage in their own back yard. Sarah you need to go sit on a tack and rotate, even with lipstick on. *smile

Wendy says:

With all the tax hikes Obama has planned we'll be living off of government cheese and we won't be able to afford cable to watch the Food Network! I am at least glad to know who Paula supports, I don't have to listen to her say "ya'll" every other word!

Janet says:

FYI - as per Newsday article - no one's playing favorites -

Deen has also invited Republican John McCain's wife, Cindy, and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, to spend equal time in her kitchen.

Oh Cindy will send her maid. After all she doesn't know how to cook. Sara can come and bring her mooseburger to impress those gals that like that kind of food. Me I'll stick with Paula and Michelle.
