Scarpetta's Scott Conant has filed suit against Chris Cannon, his former partner in Alto and L'Impero. Though their split initially seemed amicable, it's gotten increasingly nasty, with Conant insulting Cannon in the press last summer. Now, Conant alleges that Cannon owes him $104,440.67 in deferred compensation. [Cityfile]

Martha Stewart, who was the only fabulous thing about Top Chef last night, has a new(ish) Top Chef of her own. Tony Esnault, who recently got the mitten at Adour, is now cooking for Martha. Esnault's friend, Pierre Schaedlin got him the gig. Schaedelin served as Martha's chef after leaving Le Cirque; he recently took a job at Benoit, leaving Stewart in need of a new toque.
